Scale
  • 4 ripe but firm Bartlett or Bosc pears
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Halve the pears lengthwise and scoop out the cores with a spoon.
  3. Arrange pear halves cut side up in a small baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, mix honey, melted butter, cinnamon, and lemon juice if using.
  5. Drizzle the mixture over the pears and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

  7. Serve warm with Greek yogurt, ice cream, or toppings of choice. Drizzle with syrup from the dish.

Notes

Make ahead and reheat gently in the oven. For variation, try maple syrup or add a splash of red wine before baking. Delicious warm or cold.
