Description
Bloody Shirley Temples are a spooky twist on a classic mocktail—fizzy lemon-lime soda meets sweet grenadine “blood,” all topped with creepy garnishes like gummy worms and candy eyeballs. Perfect for Halloween parties, kid-friendly gatherings, or festive dinners before trick-or-treating.
Ingredients
- 1 cup lemon-lime soda (or ginger ale)
- 1 tablespoon grenadine syrup
- 1 maraschino cherry (per glass)
- Ice cubes
- Optional spooky additions:
- Red corn syrup for bloody glass rims
- Gummy worms, candy eyeballs, or black licorice
- Splash of orange juice for extra flavor
Instructions
- Rim each glass with red corn syrup for a dripping “blood” effect. Chill glasses if possible.
- Add ice cubes to each glass.
- Pour lemon-lime soda (or ginger ale) into each glass.
- Slowly pour grenadine syrup—it will sink, creating a bloody effect.
- Drop in a maraschino cherry, hang gummy worms over the edge, or float candy eyeballs for a creepy touch.
- Insert a fun straw (glow stick straws work great for Halloween) and serve immediately.
Notes
Serve Bloody Shirley Temples fresh for the best fizz and drama. Pre-rim glasses with red corn syrup up to an hour in advance, and keep garnishes chilled. For adult versions, add a splash of vodka or rum for a spooky cocktail twist.
