Ingredients

  • 34 large apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 1 bag (11 oz) soft caramels or caramel bits
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • Wooden popsicle sticks or lollipop sticks
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, crushed pretzels, shredded coconut, melted chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry apples. Slice into ½ to ¾ inch thick rounds and remove seeds.
  2. Insert a wooden stick into each slice.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt caramels with heavy cream in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Alternatively, melt in a saucepan over low heat.
  4. Dip each apple slice into the caramel and let excess drip off.
  5. Place dipped slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. While caramel is soft, add toppings of choice: nuts, chocolate chips, sprinkles, or drizzle with melted chocolate.
  7. Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to set.
  8. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

To prevent browning, dip apple slices in lemon water before caramel coating. Best enjoyed same day but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
