Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 package (8 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened (optional)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (if using cream cheese)
  • Gummy worms
  • Candy pumpkins or candy corn
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Milano cookies or graham cookies (for tombstones)
  • Black decorating gel or edible marker

Instructions

  1. Crush the cookies in a food processor or in a zip-top bag using a rolling pin. Set aside half for topping.
  2. Whisk together the milk and pudding mix until thick, about 2 minutes.
  3. Fold in whipped topping until smooth and fluffy.
  4. (Optional) Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar and fold into the pudding mix for a richer version.
  5. Layer cookie crumbs into clear plastic cups or jars, followed by pudding mixture. Repeat until nearly full.
  6. Top with remaining cookie crumbs.
  7. Decorate with cookie tombstones (write on them with gel), gummy worms, candy pumpkins, and sprinkles.
  8. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

To keep the top layer crunchy, sprinkle the final cookie crumbs just before serving. Use dairy-free pudding and whipped topping if making a non-dairy version.
