Description
Witches’ Finger Breadsticks are spooky, garlicky, and perfect for Halloween! Shaped like eerie witch fingers with almond nails and creepy wrinkles, these golden breadsticks are soft on the inside, crisp on the outside, and a guaranteed hit at your haunted gathering. Serve with marinara for a deliciously bloody dip.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Whole almonds (for fingernails)
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping “blood”)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide dough into small portions and roll each into a 4–5 inch long log. Shape thinner at ends for a finger-like appearance.
- Use a knife to score shallow knuckle lines. Pinch slightly in these areas for definition.
- Press a whole almond onto the tip of each breadstick to create a fingernail. Optional: brush almond with tomato sauce for a bloody effect.
- Brush breadsticks with olive oil or melted butter. Sprinkle with garlic powder, oregano, and salt.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for spooky dipping.
Notes
For extra spooky flair, tint your dough green with food coloring or swap almonds with pumpkin seeds for monster claws. These breadsticks can be shaped a day ahead and refrigerated until baking. Kids love helping shape the fingers and pressing in the ‘nails’—a fun Halloween activity that’s also delicious!
