- Ice
- For the rim: Black salt or red/orange sugar
- Optional garnish: Lime wedge, blood orange slice, edible glitter
Instructions
- Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip into black salt or red sugar.
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
- Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice, simple syrup or agave, and charcoal or black food coloring.
- Shake well for 15 seconds until chilled.
- Strain into prepared glass over fresh ice.
- Garnish with lime wedge, blood orange slice, or edible glitter.
Notes
To make a batch, mix ingredients without ice and chill in a pitcher. Stir before serving, and shake individual portions with ice for best results. For a mocktail, use limeade, soda water, and orange juice instead of alcohol.
